No of Folios:1 paper flyleaf and its stub + 165-296 parchment folios partly burned and mounted onto paper + 2 paper flyleaves and stubs
Pagination:Modern pencil in upper right corner of the paper on which leaves are mounted; slightly older ink for same foliation in extreme upper outer corners of rectos.
Quiring:12s: first four leavcs may be half of a quire.
Catchwords:By second scribe, lower margin of last folio verso each quire, running up to right margin line, several words, and with a red box round, of which sides are enclosure brackets. First catchword is on f180v (of this volume would be f16v), then every 12th leaf thereafter until last quire which is an 8 (289-296).

Frame:Invisible on most folios; appears to have been two verticals and five horizontals enclosing top line and bottom two lines, ruled within, fine grey lines; no pricking survives; MS leaves have been cropped, tears at edges from withering from the heat of the fire.
Writing Space:278 x 188
Incipits and Explicits:Incipits and explicits in rubric; ends with ?explicit of three lines at bottom of f196 recto (badly worn and would need to be viewed under ultra-violet light).
Marginal Headings:Rubric, by scribe but in more formal bastard anglicana, in spaces left for them; black ink chapter numbers in margins by scribe, eg 'cm 5m' in right margin f168v. Rubric headings, explicits etc; frequently single words or references to sources in text written in rubric also.
Running Titles:Running titles of chapter numbers also by scribes in roman numerals in upper right corners recto (see partly cropped at top of f178, ?lxxviii).
Flourished Initials:Alternating red and blue 2-line initials without any embellishment.
Miscellaneous Info:Polychronicon Scribe copies the whole of volume 1. Scribe B copies the Polychronicon.
