the scribe uses double compartment 'a' throughout.

all upper case 'A's on the folios examined are formed as in this example.

the square lobe, the fine approach stroke to the head of the diagonal stroke and the foot to the right are consistent in each example.

'd' may be looped as in this example. The lower compartment is extremely angular, the loop neatly contained above.

the scribe also uses this 'd' with reverse formation of the loop which is often not closed.

'g' also has two very angular compartments. The upper compartment appears diamond-shaped, the lower compartment is triangular.

'h' has an angular stroke at the head which is left open. There is an angled foot to the stem.

the limb does not extend beneath the graph and the tail-stroke may follow either a clockwise path or it may turn counter-clockwise as here.

the scribe's textura hand used for the incipits and explicits does not vary very much from his normal script.

the stem of 'r' is basically two diamond shapes set one below the other. The shoulder is a third stroke of similar formation.

'z'-shaped 'r' has the two strokes joined by hairlines with otiose stroke descending in a straight line from the lower left of the graph.

an 'r' from the scribe's display script which has a straight stem with angled foot rather than the double diamond formation.

long 's' with angled head is used in initial position.

an angular '8'-shaped 's' is used in final position.

upper case serpentine 'S' with horizontal head-stroke and horizontal base.

Upper Case Letters
Usage: Quid
many of the scribe's upper case graphs have a diamond shape within the graph itself. There is usually either a vertical or horizontal line which bisects the diamond tying in either top and bottom of the graph or the two sides.
