Usage: desolate
double compartment 'a' is used throughout.
Usage: al
sometimes the head of 'a' appears horned.
Usage: And
the scribe uses two forms of upper case 'A' on the folio examined.

the second and less-used version of upper case 'A' which is basically a larger version of the lower case form.
 
D
Usage: dredful
(first 'd') d's are all unlooped with curved stroke at the head to close off the lobe.

'd' in ligature with following 'e'.

double compartment 'g' is used throughout. The upper compartment has a vertical alignment, the lower squashed compartment is horizontal.

'g' in final position with vertical tag attached and separate 'er' abbreviative mark above.

the horizontal dash leaves the upper compartment at the top.

H
Usage: haue
'h' often has a short horizontal stroke at the left of the top of the stem.

the shoulder turns before the limb descends in a slight curving stroke with the tail a mere hairline tag to finish.

a fine tag at the lower end of the limb is the only 'tail'.

R
Usage: grete
modern 'r' is used in all positions except after 'o'.

'z'-shaped 'r' is always used after 'o'. There is an otiose stroke descending at an angle from the lower left of the graph.

a straight 's' with slight turn on the foot is used in initial and medial positions.

'8'-shaped 's' with horned head and straight tag angled upwards from the top of the graph is used in final position.

upper case 'S' with horizontal head and base strokes. The graph is bisected by a pair of parallel lines and washed with yellow.
 
W

the 'w' graph is evenly formed. The limbs are upright and there is a 'B'-shaped element at the right.

the upper case graph is the same as the lower case one except perhaps for a slight extension in the length of the limbs.

'y' is also consistently formed. The left limb is straight.

the right limb is slightly angled before turning at a forty-five degree angle to join the left limb at the fork and continue as the tail-stroke.

the tail flicks counter-clockwise at the end.
