Catchwords:By scribe, single word or two short, running up to right frame line, no embellishment.
Page Size:447 x 314
Frame:4 x vertical and 4 x horizontal enclosing top and bottom lines, ruled within, fine grey lines, no pricking survives.
Writing Space:330 x 200 in 2 columns 90 + 20 + 90
Marginal Headings:Headings and proper names are written in rubric; at top of outer margin is 'Anno' in red, and numbers below in margin mark portions of text dealing with which years.
Running Titles:Running titles in rubric by scribe preceded by blue with red paraph on versos and gold with marine blue on rectos, 'Liber' on versos and number on rectos.
Borders:Full bar borders enclosing all columns with bosses at corners and occasionally broken by acanthus leaves and sprays extending into margins with blue, red, pink, green and gold leaves and mushroom flowers.
Illuminated Initials:Books begin with 6-line blue and pink initials with white highlighting forming incised patterns on gold ground, foliage inside of blue and pink with white; lesser divisions marked by 3-line gold initials on blue and rose grounds with white highlighting.
Paragraph Marks:Each sentence begins with one-line paraph alternating blue with red flourishing or gold with marine blue flourishing.
Other Names (not owners):Lower margin f212, note that has read over the book signed by Henry [Ingilby], possibly 18th c?; many scribbles and pentrials and added notes, 3-stanza poem, beginnings of letters, etc on remaining blank areas of 212v, including names 'Henryens'/'Henryend' or 'Henryenode', 'William
on f211v in margin 'Redcros', on f210v margin 'Homebartus' ALL of these in later scripts of 16th c. onwards.
