Pagination:Modern pencil foliation in the usual place.
Quiring:First two quires are 12's, the remainder are 8's.
Signatures:In the Hoccleve section, ff25-68v, signatures in red ink, letters plus roman numerals, with 'c' for the third quire in this section (now fifth in the volume), and 'e' for 5th quire in this section (now 7th in the volume); leaves of present quires 5-7 (3-5 of the Hoccleve section) also have roman numerals for the leaves as signatures in upper right corners.
Catchwords:On ff25-68v, towards the middle of the space below text on versos, by Hoccleve.

Frame:2 x vertical; 4 x horizontal enclosing top and bottom lines; ruling mostly now invisible but pricking survives and remnants of crayon ruling.
Writing Space:147-150 x 100-105
Marginal Headings:In the same black ink as text but larger and more decorative form of the script, by Hoccleve.
Flourished Initials:On f1 a 3-line red initial. Articles 2-6 have 2-line blue Lombard initials with red flourishing. Dutschke notes that this was 'probably done by the same person who decorated arts. 2-6 in the first section of the book' (i.250); rest have spaces left for 2-line initials.
Other Names (not owners):Inventory on back two flyleaves dated 1444 and 1463 by same hand, probably by or for John Fyler: 'Thomas Fyler' three times on front flyleaf, fii; in the Easter table are birth and death notices of Fyler family, Thomas Fyler died 1424, John Fyler died 1444 and another John Fyler died 1471, another Thomas in 1473. Dutschke notes, 'A Thomas Fyler appears in the lists dated 1461 (twice) and 1474 in L. Lyell and F. D. Watney, eds., Acts of Court of the Mercers' Company 1453-1527 (Cambridge 1936), 52, 55, 78. Also on front and back flyleaves are merchant marks; and on back flyleaf the name 'Constantyn'.
