Frame:2 x vertical to enclose text but lines of verse never reach right frame line. This line is used on rectos as the left margin for glosses; 4 x horizontal enclosing top and bottom lines, ruled within. Very faint fine grey lines; occasional pricking still on outer edge also at top edge though both usually cropped. Always prick marks in lower margin for verticals

Incipits and Explicits:On f35v 'Explicit dialogus inter patren & filium', top f36r 'Hic incipit prologus de Principum regine' [sic, 'regie' with macron over i] then other headings as f38v 'Hic tractat [sic] de Principum regine [sic as above] incipiendo de fide seruanda
all brown ink slightly lighter than text but by main scribe.

Borders:On f1r a three quarter bar border with bosses of floral and mushroom-like leaves and sprays from top and especially bottom toward each other along fourth side, outer or right margin; bubbles among the sprays in margins. On f36 a finer spray continues from the initial to form border along left side and smaller half across top.
Illuminated Initials:On f1 is a 7-line blue and rose parti-coloured initial with white highlighting on illuminated ground that follows shape of letter.Rose, blue, green and gold with white highlighting. On f36 a smaller blue and rose initial with same illumination and decoration but no border and just floral spray around letter and short way down left margin.
Flourished Initials:3-line blue lombard initials with red penwork flourishing not in usual style but extending less distance either up or down, and bubbles among the extenders and tendrils (York production?); f63v has red touching on initials of each line.
Other Names (not owners):None; part of upper margin f1 torn away which might have had a name on it.
Miscellaneous Info:On the verso of the last flyleaf is an index of names in the text of Regiment with folio numbers, by 19-20th c hand. Pasted to verso of third paper flyleaf at front is tracing of the miniature of Hoccleve presenting his book to Henry IV as in BL Royal 17 D.vi; signed F. D. dil [or del?].
