Pagination:Modern pencil foliation in top outer corner; older pencil foliation counting every recto and verso, closer to the top and closer to the centre of the page.
Quiring:120 (4-23), 220 (24-43), 320-5(44-57, stubs where cut out at end of quire, folio after 57 blank unnumbered); Second Booklet 420 (58-77); Third Booklet 520 (78-97), 620-1(98-116, one lost in second half, probably the last)
Signatures:In the second booklet by the scribe in medieval arabic numerals on the first ten folios 58-67.
Catchwords:Included wherever the quires carry over within booklets, by the scribe, with black-red shadowed sleigh under.

Frame:Square, drypoint, top line of text written above top line of frame.
Writing Space:Very variable; 190 x 120
Marginal Headings:Red glosses underlined; headings in sleigh form with inward curve at left side, straight vertical at right; titles over beginnings of texts.
Table of Contents:Added to ff3rv by a 17th (?) century hand.
Flourished Initials:Initials of headings, glosses and the initial letter of each line has red highlight.
Other Names (not owners):William Browne, J Taylor are both at the top of f4. On f2v is a motto 'Fortuna non mutat genus' signed WB, presumably the William Browne of f4. On f1v is 'This book has been in the hands of John Stow, whose writing appears in many parts of it. See pp. 31, 47, 67, 142, 151. [Note by Mr Ritson to whom I lent this vol. RH.]'
