Usage: ram
double compartment 'a' used throughout. on this folio. Later in the manuscript, the scribe begins to use single compartment 'a' which then becomes the predominant form.

upper case 'A' as the beginning of a line.

D
Usage: sholde
looped 'd' often has a rounded aspect with loop roughly the same size as the lower lobe.

occasionally 'd' has a more pointed lobe.
  
 
G
Usage: brighte
at the beginning of the manuscript, 'g' is a double compartment graph with both compartments frequently diamond-shaped. Towards the end of his copying the scribe introduces tailed 'g' with horn extensions.

'gh' combination.

'g' in final position with tag.
  
 
H
Usage: which
'h' has a looped head-stroke. The limb is long and tapered.
Usage: fressh
crossed 'h' after 's'.
Usage: shrighte
'h' with straight limb with tail turning counter-clockwise.
Usage: hire
occasionally the tail of 'h' is extended in a clockwise direction. It then turns back, crosses the limb and joins to the next graph.
 
R
Usage: riseth
long 'r' used in every position except after 'o' in the first part of the manuscript. Modern 'r' is introduced along with secretary 'a' and 'g' for the latter portion of his work.
Usage: for
'z'-shaped 'r' used after 'o' and occasionally after a consonant.
Usage: Right
upper case 'R' at the beginning of a line.
Usage: squyer
in the running title of the folio.
 
S
Usage: is
kidney-shaped 's' used only in final position.
Usage: selue
sigma 's' is used as well as long 's' in initial position.
Usage: she
long 's' scribed at a slight slant.
  
 
W
Usage: wel
some of the scribe's 'w's have a foot at the lower end of the first limb.
Usage: walkede
some of the scribe's 'w's have no foot on the first vertical.
Usage: What
'w' in initial position in the line with licence to extend into the left margin.
  
 
Y
Usage: rody
'y' with widely curving tail.
Usage: eyther
the tail of 'y' joins on to the next letter.
Usage: euery
very occasionally, about three times on this folio, the scribe turns the end of the tail back on itself rather than continuing the counter-clockwise curve.

'Y' in initial position in the line.
 
e
Usage: taried
the scribe has a varied selection of shapes for 'e', which seem to alternate to no discernible plan. Here is one with horned top.

Thorn
Usage: þat
frequent use of thorn as an initial letter to replace 'th', and occasional use as final letter.
