Usage: alwey
lower case double compartment 'a' used throughout.

D
Usage: lady
there is almost no variation at all in the form of looped 'd'. Although the name 'damyan' occurs in the text, there is no upper case letter used for 'd'.

Usage: langureth
double compartment 'g' is used throughout.
Usage: lenger
'g' usually sits on or above the line and does not extend below.
Usage: heng
'g' in final position with vertical tag attached to the horizontal slash.
Usage: God
upper case letter at the beginning of a line.

'h' is usually copied at a slight slant.
Usage: thyn
sometimes the stem of 'h' is shortened.
Usage: his
occasionally when 'h' is in initial position, it is possible to see a short approach stroke to the left of the shaft.

in this combination it is possible to see the angle of 'h' against the letter preceding.
 
R

modern 'r' used in all positions except after 'o'.

'z'-shaped 'r' follows 'o'.

upper case 'R' at the beginning of a line. Almost all the scribe's letters are set above the line.

8-shaped 's' always used in final position.
Usage: somers
sigma 's' used occasionally in initial position.
Usage: schalt
long 's' used initially and medially. It is frequently possible to see the fine lead-in stroke to the left of the shaft.

upper case serpentine 'S' used twice as initial letter of a line on this folio.
 
W
Usage: Answere
the head of the 'w' graph is formed with two loops.
Usage: wo
a 'B'-shaped element to the right.
Usage: Whiche
little significant difference between upper and lower case 'w'.
  
 
Y
Usage: saye
the left limb of 'y' is vertical. The fork occurs above the line.
Usage: lyf
the tail of 'y' can be shorter or longer.
    
 
Thorn and yogh
Usage: þou
the scribe uses both thorn and yogh occasionally. The stem of thorn is thick and does not taper.
Usage: þat
thorn used at the beginning of a line. The stem ends just below the line.
Usage: ȝe
the only occurrence of yogh on this folio. The scribe may have taken it over from the exemplar.
